Master of Finance at DeGroote

Finance is at the heart of every successful business. It drives growth, informs strategy, and shapes the way organizations navigate complex and competitive markets. As companies face increasing demands for data-driven decision-making, the need for finance professionals with both technical expertise and strategic insight has never been greater.

The Master of Finance (MFin) program at DeGroote is designed to develop future-focused financial leaders. The program will challenge how students think about finance while equipping them with the practical tools and knowledge to launch — or accelerate — their careers in this fast-paced, evolving industry. A career in finance looks different for everyone, and DeGroote’s MFin program helps students define what it means for them.

Structured across four terms, the program includes:

  • Two academic terms focused on core finance competencies and emerging trends
  • A scheduled four-month break to pursue employment opportunities or professional certifications
  • A final academic term to consolidate learning and prepare for the job market

Whether you’re driven by investment strategy, financial technology, or corporate finance, the DeGroote MFin program offers a flexible and future-ready pathway into the world of modern finance.

The program duration is 16 months from September to January

Work experience

This program does not require any work experience.

Program costs

Tuition is $39,375 for domestic students and $63,347 for international students.

Get involved at DeGroote

The DeGroote Graduate Finance Club (DGFC) is a student-led organization dedicated to enhancing the Master of Finance (MFin) experience beyond the classroom. Through hands-on learning and real-world applications, DGFC empowers students to deepen their knowledge of financial markets, equity research, and investment strategies. The club acts as a vital connection point—linking students with industry professionals, faculty, and alumni to expand both professional and academic networks. With guest speaker sessions, networking events, and roundtable discussions, students gain exposure to diverse career paths in finance. DGFC also fosters community by bringing current students and alumni together through social events that build lasting relationships.
